バロック・チェロの活動を長く続けてきたチェロ奏者、アンナー・ビルスマ氏が7月25日に逝去されました。享年85歳でした。ビルスマは1934年2月、オランダのハーグ生まれで、グスタフ・レオンハルト（チェンバロ）、フランス・ブリュッヘン（フルート、リコーダー）らとともにオランダ発古楽運動の牽引者のひとりとして活躍しました。ビルスマ氏の業績を称え、代表劇名盤のバッハをSACDハイブリットでリリースいたします。ビルスマによる二度目のバッハの「無伴奏チェロ組曲」の全曲録音。ビルスマは1979年にバロック・チェロによる全曲録音（SEONレーベル）を行い、世界各国で高い評価を受けましたが、92年に行われたこの新録音では、1701年製の「セルヴェ」と呼ばれるストラディヴァリ、いわゆるモダン・チェロを使い、新たなアプローチでこの無限の可能性を秘めた「チェロのバイブル」に、新たな光を当てました。常に新たな可能性を追求してやまないビルスマの、果敢な挑戦です。
